iPhone, Here We Come
>> Saturday, May 2, 2009
Well, after putting it off for the last couple of years, we are finally going out to get iPhones today. My husband's cell phone is gasping it's last breath and so before it dies completely, we're going to go get new phones. Oh yeah, we could go ahead and just get him a less expensive phone to replace his ancient one, but hey, Greg's birthday is this coming week and our inner "techno-geeks" have been patient and waiting for two years so it's time we did it. Once we've had it a few days, I'll have to post our reviews of the new phone.
On the subject of Greg's birthday... well, my dad is taking us out to eat Mexican food tomorrow night to celebrate. On top of that, we're headed out of town for a long weekend back in Greg's home state of New Jersey for our niece's First Communion, so that's going to be a huge food fest too (good Italian families never get together without TONS of food available). The next couple of weeks is going to be extremely tough and I just pray I don't gain back everything I've lost so far.
Last year when we went to NJ for the Fourth of July holiday, we had been doing the South Beach diet for about 5 months. I had lost about 10 pounds at that point. After we came back to town, I got on the scale and found I had gained the entire 10 pounds back. And now I'm very close to the same weight I was last year right before the NJ trip. Deja vu, if you know what I mean. I really hope the end result this time does not resemble the end result after last year's trip. I really am kind of stressed out about it because I've been doing so good with the DTG plan. I'll try to be "good" but you know how families can be... eat this, try this, why aren't you eating?? Ugh... Calgon, take me away!

I'm the last guy in the world that should be giving dieting tips, so please forgive me. The word hope indicates everything should workout, but may not. I know you've worked hard at your accomplishments so maybe a plan of attack would be in order? Maybe limit yourself to a splurge night.
The other nights you share with the family how hard you've been working and your husband chimes in for support as you enjoy your DTG meals. Naturally, you'd make plans ahead to pick up your order in NJ. A plan can work and of course if your plan is to set aside the diet for a week that's OK too, just let it be your decision and your plan.
With that said, I know it sounds easy and it's really hard.
I'm beginning to learn from experience it's true what they say the definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over and expecting a different result".
Best of luck on your decision my DTG friend.
I recieved an iphone as a Christmas gift last year and it is the greatest thing ever. I am so addicted to it my husband has to take it away from me when we watch tv, lol. All the apps are just so fun and the internet works wonderfully on the 3g network.
Try to be strong on your trip and just think of what happened last time and how you would feel if you made the EXACT same mistake. Try to plan ahead and make sure to limit yourself. Are those indulgences worth the pounds? Good luck with that because I know it is extremely hard to resist those types of temptations. Just believe in yourself and make the decision to do what is best for you no matter what.
